Cultural Art Appreciation

At our Harbour Town Kindyland, a childs interest in the art work upon the Reconciliation Week poster has led to an investigation into various Aboriginal art styles and looking at renowned Aboriginal artists.

Using the inspiring art works of Betty Mbitjana and Louise Numina ( see some of their incredible work on @raintreeart) as provocations, the children displayed their own creativity as they designed their own art work blending colours and using circular formations. This generated an authentic appreciation and understanding of the depth of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art work.
