Surfers Paradise Surf Life Saving Club
Recently, our Harbour Town Centre and Vacation Care group, had a fun and informative visit from the Surfers Paradise Surf Life Saving Club.
The children welcomed head coach Zayne Hamill who talked about his role as the coach of some of the very best Ironmen and women in Australia.
Jules, who was also there to talk to the group, is currently a Summer Surf Girl entrant, who along with Jess and Jazmyn explained the importance of swimming between the red and yellow flags; how to keep safe on the beach and in the water and the role of both lifesavers and lifeguards.
The group then watched a video about the Surf Life Saving community and the Surfers Paradise Nippers program they run.
It was great to connect with such a valuable community organisation as well as learning important surf safety information and seeing how much fun nippers have.
